if you're familiar with Victoria BC, you'll know that it doesn't snow here... well, until it does. i remember we used to have snow days when i was in elementary school but it seems as the years have gone by, we've been getting less and less snow... to the point where it's a shocker when it does come. the city basically shuts down while all the maniac drivers make their appearance.
this morning i woke up to my clock radio alarm and the dj saying, "there's lots of snow in Victoria..." i instantly bounced out of bed and looked out the window... WHOA! the weather has been weird lately with freak hail storms and there was some talk about snow towards the end of this week but the weatherman is NEVER right. and even if we do get snow.. it's "snow".. like barely 2 inches and turns into yucky grey slush by lunchtime. by 6:30am, there was already about a foot and a half and apparently it didn't even start really snowing until 5:30am... came down hard and fast!
as i type this the sky is lightening up... it's 1am at the moment.. might wake up to even more of a winter wonderland.
here's some of my favourite shots from today... i love the scenery and the peacefulness when it snows.. but i hate the fact that things shut down and i'm stuck at home because i'm too much of a wuss to drive in it. 1. i don't trust my tires. 2. i don't trust the other drives.
