flying home...

as you can see from the previous 2 postings, i was having fun with my ipod and the hipstamatic photo app... here's a few more fun ones that i took while riding in the van and while sitting in the plane

Niagara Falls

the last time i visited Niagara Falls was July 21, 1978... my first birthday.  my parents took me on a road trip through Ontario on our way to Chicago to visit family.  i haven't been back east since and was really happy that we were able to make a quick visit before heading back to Victoria!

Canadian National Dragon Boat Championships

this past year i decided to change things up and join a different dragon boat team... a team that is much much more competitive!  we have been training hard for the past 6 months or so... 5-6 times on the water a week... our goal was to compete at the Canadian National Dragon Boat Championships in Welland ON to try and qualify for the Club Crew Championships in Hong Kong in 2012.  sadly, we did not qualify but we did race hard and competed against Canada's top team... it definitely was a eye-opening and learning experience!  although we will not be travelling to Hong Kong next year, we will still continue to train hard and gain more international experience next year.

mommy and daddy had to work late the other day so auntie muffin jumped in to babysit.  things went rather smoothly... until bedtime.  both kids started to cry for daddy but luckily i was able to get them to settle down pretty quickly and it was quiet the rest of the night.  we had chicken strips and fries for dinner and i tried to figure out what to do to kill time before bedtime... i asked if they wanted to watch a movie in the toy room or do some drawing or just plain old play with toys... all answered with "um... no...."  okay, let's see... "wanna go for a walk?"  "yes!"  awesome!  shoes and jackets on and we headed out towards the trail around the panama flats... here a few shots i got of the kids on our outting.

it's been a while since i've posted anything.... i thought i'd put a few things up for those who may actually still visit my blogspot.  more pics can be found on my tumblr or facebook or flickr... i'm just a social media whore *grin*

last weekend my cousin pauline came up to visit... she told me a few days before that she wanted to be a model so we headed out to different spots around town (mostly in chinatown) and tested my photography skills.  here are some of my favourites shots.  **a big thank you to my cousin marco for lending me his lens!!
